Officers


Kimberly Wyard, Chief Executive Officer

about-us_exec_kimwyardKimberly Wyard serves as Chief Executive Officer of Northeast Valley Health Corporation, a position she has held since 1996.  Ms. Wyard first joined the staff of NEVHC in 1974, the year after NEVHC opened its first health center in the City of San Fernando.  During the intervening years as NEVHC has gown to 13 health centers providing over 240,000 medical and dental visits a year, she has held various positions including Director of an Adolescent Health Program,  Clinic Administrator and Deputy Director.  She has a bachelor's degree in journalism and completed graduate course work in public health at California State University, Northridge.

A native Californian and San Fernando Valley resident, Ms. Wyard currently serves as President on the Board of Directors of Healthcare LA, IPA, a safety net IPA composed mostly of community health centers and clinics.  She is a member of the Community Clinic Association of Los Angeles County and served on the CCALAC Board of Directors from 2000-2011, and is also a member of the California Primary Care Association and of  the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Kim is also a past member of the LA Care Health Plan Board of Governors representing federally qualified health centers from 2000-2008.

 

 

Richard L. Seidman, MD, MPH, Chief Medical Officer 

RichardSeidmanwebAs the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Seidman is responsible for the quality and safety of clinical care throughout the organization.  Responsibilities include supervision of clinical services including Primary and Specialty Care Clinical, Pharmacy, Dental, and Behavioral Health.    

From 1993 until 2004, Dr. Seidman was a staff Pediatrician and later served as Medical Director, and CMO at NEVHC. Dr. Seidman returned to NEVHC in November, 2011.  

Dr. Seidman is a San Fernando Valley native having graduated from Granada Hills High School.  He earned his undergraduate degree in Community Health at UC Davis, and graduate degrees (MD, MPH) at the Drew/UCLA School of Medicine and the UCLA School of Public Health.  He completed his internship in Pediatrics at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, residency in Pediatrics at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and residency in Preventive Medicine at UCLA and the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services.  Dr. Seidman is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Preventive Medicine.

 

 

Patricia Moraga, Chief Financial Officer

ES_Patricia_Moraga_editPatricia Moraga, NEVHC’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO), provides fiscal oversight to ensure that the organization meets its fiscal goals. Ms. Moraga has been the CFO of NEVHC since 1990. Prior to her position with NEVHC, she held the position of Senior Auditor for the CPA firm Vasquez and Company, and also worked as a Revenue Agent for the IRS at the Van Nuys office. Ms. Moraga holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University-Los Angeles.

 

 

 

 

 

Theresa “Missy” Nitescu, Chief Operations Officer

about-us_exec_missyTheresa “Missy” Nitescu currently serves as NEVHC’s Chief Operations Officer (COO). She has worked for NEVHC since 1986, first as the Nutrition Education Director for the WIC Program and then as a Health Administrator overseeing the operations of several of NEVHC’s primary care clinics (San Fernando, Valencia and Canoga Park Health Centers). In 1995, Ms. Nitescu participated on the NEVHC team that regulated takeover of the operations of the Valencia and Canoga Park Health Centers from Los Angeles County.

In 1997, Ms. Nitescu was promoted to the position of Director of Operations, and then COO, and oversees the operations of 13 licensed health care centers under the CEO and Chief Medical Officer. Ms. Nitescu is a Registered Dietitian and holds a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY-Plattsburgh in Foods & Nutrition and a Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from CSU-Northridge. She completed her training as a registered dietitian at the University of Medicine and Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. Ms. Nitescu helped NEVHC develop their first WIC Breastfeeding promotion program, a disaster program and a safety program. She also oversees the annual patient satisfaction survey.

 

 

 

Executive Staff

Helen Arriola, Governmental and Community Relations Officer

about-us_exec_helenarriola_rIn 1995, Helen Arriola came to NEVHC as the Public Relations Director, focused on community relations. With over 20 years experience in various federal, state and local agencies, her duties soon expanded to developing relationships with local elected officials and advocating on issues affecting community health centers. Ms. Arriola also works closely with the Board of Directors in maintaining their mandated 51% Patient Member status. She is also responsible for special fundraising events, including the anniversary gala and annual employee giving campaign. Ms. Arriola maintains active memberships with several chambers of commerce and health related organizations for NEVHC.

She thoroughly enjoys working for NEVHC since the organization provides a stable and safe medical home for the community that she lives in with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, Ms. Arriola enjoys being a new grandma.

 

 

 

Stephen Gutierrez, Chief Information Officer

about-us_exec_stephengutierrezStephen Gutierrez serves as the Director of Information Technology for NEVHC. Mr. Gutierrez received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Management of Information Systems from California State University, Fullerton. His first technology job was in health care and this allowed Mr. Gutierrez the opportunity to bring technology to an industry that was just discovering technological advantages and how those advances can improve patient lives through better healthcare. Over the years, he held a variety of information systems positions at health care organizations, before coming to NEVHC in 2003.

He also enjoys spending time with his family and working around the house and, as an avid outdoor sports enthusiast, enjoys playing baseball, basketball, camping and watersports.

 

 

 

Susan L. Jones, Director of Development

 

Sherri Lewitz, Compliance Officer

about-us_exec_sherrilewitzSherri Lewitz, RN, joined NEVHC as the Quality Improvement, Accreditation, and Compliance Officer in August, 2006. She received her BSN from the University Of Michigan School Of Nursing and has held a variety of clinical and administrative positions in her 32 years as a registered nurse, primarily in the field of Behavioral Health Care.  For the past fifteen years Ms. Lewitz has worked exclusively in the field of Healthcare Quality Management, providing direction and consultation on the design and implementation of Quality Improvement programs in both inpatient and ambulatory health care settings. In addition, she has assisted numerous health care organizations in their efforts to achieve and maintain accreditation by the Joint Commission.

 

 

 

 

David Rock, Controller 

David Rock, CPA, currently serves as NEVHC’s Controller. Prior to coming to the organization, he held many positions in budgeting, accounting and financial analysis. As NEVHC’s Controller, Mr. Rock is responsible for all financial and budgetary reporting, as well as preparing monthly financial statements, program budgets and cost reports.

Mr. Rock holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University-Northridge.

Medical Leadership

Christine Park, MD, Medical Director of Pediatrics

about-us_exec_christineparkDr. Park grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, before obtaining her medical degree at UCLA School of Medicine.  She completed her pediatric residency training at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center while finishing a Master of Public Health degree from UCLA School of Public Health.  She has worked for NEVHC as a pediatrician since 2003 and as the Medical Director of Pediatrics since 2005.  She also became a Certified Lactation Educator in 2008.

“I enjoy working for a community health center because the families are so deserving of the quality services we provide,” Dr. Park stated.  “I relish the opportunity to develop relationships with these families and watch the children grow.”

In her spare time, Dr. Park spends time with her husband and two sons.  She also enjoys traveling and crafts, including crochet and scrapbooking.

 

 

 

Margaret Natarajan, MD, Medical Director of Women’s Health

about-us_exec_margaretnatarajanDr. Natarajan is the Medical Director of Women’s Health Services at NEVHC. She is also an Assistant Professor of Clinical OB/GYN at University of Southern California (USC), and has been an investigator on several research studies sponsored by the National Institute of Health. Dr. Natarajan completed her medical school, internship and residency at USC Keck School of Medicine.
 
In her spare time, Dr. Natarajan enjoys singing, playing the piano, attending opera performances and skiing with her husband and son.
 
 
 
 
 

Reneé M. Poole, MD, MMM, FAAFP, Medical Director of Adult Medicine 

ReneePooleWall CroppedDr. Poole earned her undergraduate degree from University of Califonia, Los Angeles (UCLA) and graduated from Saint Louis University School of Medicine with a Medical Doctorate with a Distinction in Community Medicine. Thereafter, she completed her residency training at Advacate Christ Medical Center in IL, obtained Board Certification in Family Medicine and awarded the degree of Fellow by the American Academy of Family Physicians. She also has a Master in Medical Management degree from USC. Prior to joining NEVHC, in addition to providing medical care to the underserved, Dr. Poole was an active board member of the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians and a part-time faculty member in Family Medicine Department at the University of Chicago School of Medicine. 

Dr. Poole is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and enjoys music, movies, traveling, and trying new recipes. 

 

 

 

 Grace Hardy, DDS, Dental Director  
 
hardy3Dr. Grace Hardy has served as the Dental Director of NEVHC since October 2003. 
 
Dr. Hardy grew in Orange County and graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor's degree in Physiological Science. In 1998, she earned a DDS degree from the University of Washington, School of Dentistry in Seattle. Prior to coming to NEVHC, she worked at a private dental office in Lacey, WA and participated in several overseas mission trips to deliver dental care to those living in underdeveloped countries. Realizing she wanted to help the underserved on a daily basis, her dedication to this population came full circle when she joined NEVHC as dental director. 
 
In her spare time, Dr. Hardy enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also takes pleasure in traveling, bicycle riding, camping and visiting beaches.
