Job Description: Behavioral Health Therapist
Responsibilities:
Ensure completion and documentation baseline mental health evaluations on all HIV+ clients within 45 days of admission to HIV primary care. Develop individualized treatment plans (ITPs) for clients, with goals signed by clinician and client. Chart all sessions and prepare encounter forms for billing system. Charts and billing records must be completed within 8 hours of service delivery. Provide brief counseling interventions, crisis management, and community referrals for clients demonstrating chronic emotional, psychological and/or psychiatric symptoms. Provide and monitor referrals for support, educational, socialization and other group resources to empower clients. Provide evaluation and appropriate referrals for neuropsychological evaluation and /or psychiatric evaluation and treatment based on mental health evaluation. Coordinate and supervise all mental health and social services provided to clinic clients. Ensure compliance with relevant mental health and social services grants and contracts, including monthly reporting requirements.
Develop and revise clinical and psychoeducational protocols for working individually and in groups with both HIV+ persons, seronegative persons at high-risk, clinic patients, and patients, and partners of HIV clinic patients. Provide consultation and training to other HIV Division staff members to improve their knowledge and competence of bio-psychosocial issues associated with HIV infected and mutiply-diagnosed communities. Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences on patients as appropriate. Maintain active and current knowledge base of the social and mental health complication of HIV infection and sequelae. Maintain accurate listing of current community resources for HIV/AIDS services; advocate for and develop such resources as necessary. Participate in agency, community, and regional meetings as appropriate or assigned.

Qualifications:
Enrollment in an MSW, MFT/MA or equivalent post-graduate program at an accredited academic program.
Must be in the process of completion of Master's degree during current placement or internship.
Excellent diagnostic ability and familiarity with HIV disease and its sequelae required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational ability required.
Valid CA Driver's license, current vehicle liability insurance and an available reliable vehicle required.
Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to relate to a variety of individuals from all communities impacted by HIV, including diverse race/ethnic, gender, sexual orientation, education and age communities.
Bilingual English-Spanish preferred.
Must be supervised by LCSW or Licensed MFT and participate in clinical supervision as per state licensing requirements.
