Job Description: Information and Referral Clerk I/II
Definition:
A person who possesses excellent communication skills. This person will assist the Senior Information and Referral Assistant in receiving and sending information to the public regarding the WIC Program via telephone and mail.

Responsibilities:
Assist the Senior Information and Referral Assistant by providing information about WIC for all incoming calls. Screen persons interested in applying for WIC. Send appropriate forms and information to eligible WIC applicants; reschedule clients for WIC appointments. Answer questions for participants about the WIC Program. Perform any other job duty necessary for the smooth functioning of the WIC Program. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team. Information and Referral Clerk II will have new employee orientation and training assignments and certain lead responsibilities for work direction.

Qualifications:
High school diploma preferred.
Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
Excellent communication skills are required.
At least one year experience with the WIC Program or similar government program.
For Information and Referral Clerk II - Two years experience as a I & R Clerk I.
