Definition:
As a supervisory member of the WIC team, this position is responsible for the supervision of a WIC clinic and staff. In addition, this position will do nutrition counseling for low and high risk individuals on the program as needed. This position is approximately 25% administrative and 75% direct client service.

Responsibilities:
1. Supervises and evaluates clinic staff.
2. Acts as trouble shooter, as needed, for employee problems.
3. Works closely with other clinic supervisors and the Area Coordinators to ensure the smooth operation of clinic sites.
4. Plans, directs and organizes the clinic activities to meet the federal, state and local agency requirements.
5. Responsible for alerting the Area Coordinator when facility maintenance problems occur.
6. Maintains security and keeps the inventory of the vouchers.
7. Assists with training employees in the clinic.
8. Handles any participant problems at the clinic level or refers them to the appropriate Coordinator for problems that can not be settled in the clinic.
9. Performs low and high risk nutrition counseling.
10. Ensures that the "End of the Month Report" is done in a timely manner.
11. Responsible for conducting audits, as requested, for the WIC department or QA program.
12. Participates in all safety programs which may include assignment to an emergency response team.
13. Performs any other duties necessary to ensure that the clinic is running smoothly and efficiently. |

Qualifications:
Clinic Supervisor I:
1. Should hold a B.S. degree in Dietetics/Nutritional Services, Health Education or a
related health field and have at least one-year experience in a WIC clinic.
OR
High School diploma (some college preferred) and at least five years experience in a
WIC clinic with some experience as an assistant supervisor.
AND
Satisfactory completion of the WIC para-professional training for low risk
Counselors and one-year experience as a Nutrition Assistant III.
Clinic Supervisor II:
1. Registered Dietitian, hold registration with the American Dietetic Association and be able to show registration number R.D. Eligible (completion of Internship).
2. Masters degree in Nutrition, Public Health or related field preferred.
AND
3. Legible handwriting.
4. Basic bookkeeping abilities.
5. Bi-lingual English/Spanish or English/Armenian preferred.
6. Proficient computer skills.
7. Some supervisory experience desirable.
8. Current Class 3 CA Driver’s License, available automobile and proof of minimum
(15/30/5) liability insurance.
9. Willing to work a flexible schedule to include Saturdays and extended hours.

Supervises: WIC Clinic Staff
Knowledge and Abilities Required:
1. Must be knowledgeable in the areas of therapeutic and normal nutrition , as it relates to pregnancy, lactation and infant/child nutrition.
2. Good organizational skills.
3. Knowledge of the policies and procedures (State and Local) for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program.
4. Working knowledge of clinic operations for the program.
5. Ability to work with the corporate office WIC personnel as well as with other program personnel.
6. Ability to supervise, evaluate and foster team work among the WIC staff.
7. Must be knowledgeable of ethnic food preferences of different cultures.
8. Must be ethnically sensitive to the staff and participant needs.
9. After proper training, demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the ISIS Computer
System.
