Our school-based health centers (SBHCs) provide accessible, comprehensive health care directly on the school campus for the underserved youth and young adult population facing barriers to health care. We assist in preventing long-term illnesses and improving overall health. SBHCs leverage economic resources by reducing emergency room visits, decreasing parental absences from work, increasing early detection and treatment of disease and providing linkages to community services when necessary.
Northeast Valley Health Corporation (NEVHC) operates three school-based health centers: Maclay Health Center for Children (Charles Maclay Middle School), San Fernando High School Teen Health Center and Los Angeles Mission College Student Health Center. The student health centers are staffed by health professionals who understand the needs of children, adolescents and young adults.
